Full Casting Announced for Watermill Theatre’s Rapunzel

Christmas is fast approaching and that means one thing and one thing only – it’s time for more festive production announcements. And this week we’ve had an exciting cast announcement for Rapunzel, which is running at the Watermill Theatre from 18 November to 1 January.

Rapunzel tells the story of a young girl, discovered abandoned as a baby, who has been raised by a clever herbalist, Mother Gothel, known for her magical healing powers. As Rapunzel grows, she becomes free spirited which causes Mother Gothel to lock her away in a tower for her own protection. The adventurous girl longs to explore and dreams of escaping her tower once and for all. It seems like she may get the chance when she falls for the Prince Patrizio, but the pair face challenges at the hand of an evil trick…

Miiya Alexandra (Amélie the Musical, The King & I at the London Palladium and UK/International Tour) will play ‘Mother Gothel / Duchess’, Emma Barclay (The Windsors: Endgame, The Watermill’s productions of As You Like It and One Million Tiny Plays About Britain) will play ‘Pierluigi Ambrosi / Baldozi’, Jess Lobo (recent graduate, making professional debut) as ‘Prezze’, Roddy Lynch (recently seen as Don in the first UK revival and regional premiere of Kinky Boots at New Wolsey Theatre and Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch) as ‘Paulo / Umberto / Shark’, Tilly-Mae Millbrook (A Little Night Music and A Christmas Carol) will play the title role of ‘Rapunzel’ and Loris Scarpa (Doctors, SAS: Rogue Heroes) will play ‘Patrizio’.

Tickets are priced from only £12 and can be purchased online at watermill.org.uk or by calling 01635 46044.
